DIY face cream recipes: ingredients and step-by-step instructions. Cream recipes
Modern girls have long been accustomed to buying ready-made care products, including face creams, in specialized stores. And everything seems to be good about them: a large selection of products for different skin types, convenient and bright packaging and an instant effect. But how many people think about whether store-bought products are as useful as we used to think? After all, in fact, their effectiveness is based on a large number of chemicals in the composition, which affect only the top layer of the skin. Accordingly, many commercial creams do not have a deep therapeutic effect. It doesn’t matter, because you can make an effective cream for oily skin yourself at home.
The benefits of homemade cream
Homemade creams have a lot of advantages:
- you develop the composition yourself, so you know for sure that the product will contain only the most beneficial ingredients;
- from one base you can create several creams with different properties for different skin types, simply by replacing several elements;
- the cost of a home-prepared product is much lower than that of a store-bought one;
- A self-made cream is a wonderful gift with which you can always please your family and friends.
Ingredient Selection
Before you start creating a cream for oily skin at home, you need to decide what ingredients to use. First of all, it is important to choose the active substance, because the main properties of your home remedy will depend on it.
For oily skin, dry yeast or hop and ginger extracts are suitable. These products regulate the functioning of the sebaceous glands well. A prerequisite is that the content of the active substance in the composition should not exceed 10%.
Next you need to decide which oils you need to add to the cream. Of the basic ones for oily skin, it is preferable to use peach, corn, almond and grape seeds, as well as milk thistle and hazelnut, and their content should be thirty percent. The best essential oils suitable for oily skin are bergamot, rosemary, mint, grapefruit and lemon. You need to be careful with phytoessences at home - you should not add more than ten drops.
The next important ingredient for creating cream at home is an emulsifier. This is a substance that will help dissolve oils in water to form a homogeneous mass.
Sucrose stearate or cetyl alcohol is most often used as an emulsifier. The proportion of this substance in your cream should be at least two percent.
And finally, the ingredient that the cream contains the most (about half) is ordinary water. If at home you want to make the product more effective and add beneficial properties to it, you can use decoctions of dry herbs. Chamomile, calendula, sage and St. John's wort will be very beneficial for oily skin.
Cooking instructions
Once you have decided on the composition of your cream and selected the ingredients most suitable for oily skin, you can proceed directly to preparation. It's easy to do even at home. The main rule is to accurately carry out all the steps in the correct sequence.
- Prepare special dishes. The container must be new, not previously used for cooking.
- Heat the base oil in the microwave or in a water bath. The most important thing is not to overdo it. The temperature of the heated oil should not be higher than 60°C.
- Add the emulsifier to the container and stir until it is completely dissolved.
- Pour in water or a decoction of dried herbs.
- Heat in a double boiler until the liquid mixture begins to thicken and resemble a cream.
- You can add essential oil to the finished product.
- The cream must be immediately transferred to a jar and put in the refrigerator, where it will be stored for a week.
There is a good chance that you will not like the appearance of the resulting product. This is normal, because at home it is impossible to recreate the conditions that are maintained when creating creams in production. In addition, the homemade cream does not use various preservatives and thickeners, so it is more like a thick, oily mass.
Best Recipes
Recipes for creams for oily skin at home, which can be recreated without special equipment and complex ingredients, are very diverse.
The first recipe is suitable not only for those who suffer from excessive sebum secretion, but also for people who have problem skin - with blackheads and acne. The main ingredient of the cream is ginger extract, which must be mixed with almond oil and basil decoction. It is recommended to use sucrose stearate as an emulsifier in this recipe, and grapefruit oil as a phytoessence. At home, you should calculate the number of components per 100 g of the finished product.
When creating a cream for mixed skin types, an important condition is the addition of moisturizing ingredients. For a special cream you will need four tablespoons of chamomile decoction and one teaspoon each of liquid honey and pharmaceutical glycerin. These three components must be stirred until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Then you need to add a mixture of oils (butter and olive) and raw yolk to them, and beat everything thoroughly again.
It is extremely important to observe the correct storage conditions for homemade cream: it must be placed in a separate jar and placed in the refrigerator, removing the required portion from there immediately before use.
Disadvantages of homemade cream
Despite all the positive aspects, self-made cream also has some disadvantages:
- The home remedy contains a large number of natural ingredients that can cause allergies. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider the composition of the future cream for preparing at home and do not forget to test the finished product on a small area of skin, for example, on the wrist, before applying it to the face.
- High oil content can lead to blackheads, so it is important to thoroughly cleanse your skin.
- The cream can only be prepared in small quantities, as its shelf life is limited.
- Preparing the product requires time, some effort and compliance with certain conditions.
If all these minor disadvantages do not scare you, and you take good care of your skin, then you can safely start creating a homemade cream.
For every woman. The opinion that oily skin does not need to be moisturized turns out to be wrong. Oily skin reacts to an internal lack of moisture by increasing the production of sebum, and this phenomenon can hardly be called pleasant. Therefore, there are separate recipes for caring and moisturizing products for oily skin. Let's look at them, as well as algorithms for creating creams for other skin types. But first, let's look at the general principles.
How to make homemade cream base
Homemade moisturizers are prepared using approximately the same algorithm. The proportions may change, additional ingredients may be added to it, but the basic idea remains.
- The main components of the cream are an oil base, an emulsifier and a basic liquid. The base is prepared using lanolin, glycerin and. An emulsifier is needed so that the components of the product interact and the finished product acquires a creamy consistency. Do not use tap water as liquid for cosmetic products. Some recipes recommend using mineral water, some recommend distilled water, others are based on herbal infusions or even fresh juices. And this is the best option for a moisturizer.
- Vitamins are also additional ingredients. They are added at the end of preparing the cream. Such components give the finished product healing properties and enhance the moisturizing effect.
- What should be the ratio of all components? For one part base, prepare two parts water. There should be little emulsifier, 2 percent of the total volume. Additional ingredients are added in the amount of a few drops.
The algorithm for creating a cosmetic product is as follows:
- Mix the base components and heat them in a water bath. Keep the temperature no higher than 40 degrees, otherwise the cream can be overcooked and it will not work.
- When the desired temperature is almost reached, an emulsifier is added to the mixture, and then liquid. 2 more minutes. The product must be kept on fire, then we remove it.
- Cool the product (this is done exclusively at room temperature), add additional ingredients. Afterwards, you need to beat the product with a blender. Homemade cream is ready.
By adding certain ingredients to this base, you can give the cream the properties you need. Let's look at how moisturizing types of cosmetics are prepared.
Olive oil cream
This product will provide not only hydration, but also nutrition, as it has universal caring properties.
For the base, stock up on the following ingredients:
- lanolin – 3 tsp;
- beeswax – 3 tsp;
- glycerin – 2 tsp;
- olive oil – 4 tbsp. l.
Use sodium tetraborate, also known as borax, as an emulsifier. You can buy the product at the pharmacy.
Heat lanolin, oil and wax in a separate bowl. Remember that you do not need to overexpose the mixture and a temperature of 40 degrees will be quite enough. Heat water (distilled, 10 tbsp), glycerin and sodium tetraborate separately. Keep the mixture on the heat until the borax becomes a liquid. Then gradually introduce the second mixture into the first, constantly stirring the product with a wooden spatula. After two minutes, remove from heat and let thicken.
Linden honey cream
You can use this product as a caring mask, or you can use it as a night cream. The result of regular use will be skin nutrition, hydration and a healthy complexion.
We prepare the base of the linden cream using the following ingredients:
- lanolin – 1 tbsp. l.;
- Linden honey - 1 tbsp. l.;
- starch – 1 tsp;
- – 2 tbsp. l.;
- glycerin – 1 tbsp. l.
The emulsifier will be beeswax (take 2 g), and the solvent will be rose water. Add the latter in the amount of 8 tbsp. l.
Melt the base ingredients, but use everything except the starch first. When the mixture has heated to the required temperature, add starch while stirring. Then add wax and rose water. After a minute, remove the product from the heat. It is almost ready, all that remains is to cool it.
Gelatin-based cream for oily skin
This recipe uses slightly different ingredients. This is due to the characteristics of oily-prone skin. The product prepared according to this recipe will mattify the skin, moisturize and nourish.
Take for the base:
- gelatin – 6 g (powder);
- distilled water (half a glass, approximately 100 ml.);
- glycerin – 70 g;
- – 50 g.
As an additional component we use salicylic acid - 1 gram. It will remove oily shine from the skin and normalize the functioning of the sebaceous glands.
Before preparing the base, fill the gelatin with water and leave it to swell. 40 minutes will pass, and you can proceed further. We put gelatin on the fire and add honey and glycerin to it. When the product is almost ready, add an additional component - salicylic acid. After cooling, whip the cream. The product is ready.
Cream with essential oils for aging skin
This remedy is prepared according to a different scheme from the previously described one. We will not cook the base, but will immediately use the finished cream. This can be any product, even intended for children's skin. You can also use expensive anti-aging products to implement the recipe.
The ingredients of this cosmetic composition are:
- cream – 50 ml;
- (replace with olive if necessary) – 1 tsp;
- essential oils – 10 drops.
Let's look at the last ingredient separately. You can use one essential oil, or you can take 2-3 of your choice. Thyme, sage and orange oils are suitable for aging skin.
Place the cream in a glass jar, and then add the main oil into it first, and then add additional oil. Mix the cosmetic composition. Store it in the refrigerator.
As you can see, this recipe is extremely simple, so it won’t take up much of your time.
Homemade cream mask for dry skin type
You can use this product as a cream, or as a mask, applying a thick layer to the skin and leaving for 40 minutes. The recipe also does not require thermal preparation of the base.
The list of ingredients is:
- butter – 1 tbsp. l.;
- (use fruit pulp, replace with pear pulp if desired) - 1 tbsp. l.;
- natural honey – 1 tsp;
- yolk of 1 egg.
Preheat the honey, but if you have a liquid product, use it in its original form. Mix the ingredients and beat with a mixer. The cream is ready. Store it refrigerated, or better yet use it fresh.
Cucumber cream
Cucumber juice not only moisturizes, but also whitens the skin, so when choosing this recipe, take into account this property of the vegetable.
For the base take:
- beeswax – 1 tsp;
- – 3 tbsp. l.
Combine the products and put on fire. Prepare cucumber puree. To do this, chop the peeled vegetable. Use 3 tbsp. l. the resulting mass - add it to the base for the cream. Then add mineral water (2 tbsp) and keep on low heat with constant stirring for 30 minutes. When the mixture has cooled, whisk it.
Cream with jojoba oil
This homemade product has a beneficial effect on dry skin prone to redness and flaking. Defects are eliminated, and the face acquires a well-groomed appearance with regular use of the product.
Take the following ingredients to implement the recipe:
- water – half a glass (the water must be purified, do not take it straight from the tap);
- jojoba oil – 5 tbsp. l.;
- aloe juice – 1 tbsp. l.;
- vitamin E – 10 capsules (open them with scissors when adding vitamin to the base);
- beeswax – 2 tbsp. l.;
- rose oil – 5 drops.
Boil the water. Add wax to it and stir until the wax is completely dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients one at a time with constant stirring. Cool the product.
Cream with iris oil
If you find iris oil in cosmetic stores or pharmacies, be sure to purchase it. Based on it, you can prepare a wonderful moisturizing cream with your own hands.
Mix iris oil and aloe juice in equal proportions. This product is not prepared for future use; it is used immediately. Use a cosmetic product before bed and it will moisturize your skin and even out its color.
Sour cream
This product is suitable for girls with dry skin.
Take the following ingredients for preparing the cosmetic composition:
- homemade sour cream - 1 tbsp. l.;
- lemon juice – 1 tsp;
- cucumber pulp (grated) – 1 tbsp. l.;
- rose water – 4 tsp;
- vitamin E – 2 capsules;
- essential oil – 2 drops;
- yolk of 1 egg.
Add lemon juice, cucumber mixture and pre-mixed yolk to the sour cream. Stir. Add rose water to the future cream. Then add additional components - vitamin E (don't forget to open the capsules) and essential oil. Choose any ether, because it is present in this quantity in this recipe for flavoring.
Beat the product and refrigerate it. Use the prepared product within a week.
Homemade cream may not work. This applies to those recipes for which the base is cooked. If this happens to you, don't despair, but try again. A homemade cosmetic product will not disappoint you and will be a good alternative to store-bought face cream.
Most additives used by cosmetic companies are either inert (not interacting with the body at all) or harmless only within a certain concentration, dosage, storage conditions and use. Store-bought cosmetics are composed of flavors, texturizers and emulsifiers, so they can be stored from 12 months to several years. Beneficial substances, even if they exist, lose their properties within 30 days. Therefore, it is recommended to replace store-bought cosmetics with homemade ones to give yourself youth, well-groomed skin and a fresh complexion. Moreover, folk methods have always been useful.
Making face cream is quite easy if you use the right utensils and follow the recipe. Therefore, for successful experiments at home, it is necessary to take into account some points.
- Do not use metal utensils and/or blender attachments. Oxidation of the cream upon contact with iron reduces its shelf life and gives it an unpleasant odor and color. Therefore, to heat the components (and this is an inevitable stage in creating any cream), prepare a set of enamel containers or use heat-resistant glass dishes. Don't forget wooden spoons, spatulas and other mixing utensils.
- Glass containers are ideal for storing cream. The second, slightly less successful option is hard plastic.
- The jar of cream should always be closed after use. It will be better if you find a suitable container with a tight lid. If not, cover the neck with plastic wrap.
- Get yourself a measuring spoon, a set of disposable syringes and a pipette. Useful for counting drops where the recipe requires it. You'll probably need to measure very small quantities, so large measuring cups won't work here.
- Some components of the cream can be varied if desired, but others cannot. You can replace the same type of additives with each other - oils, decoctions, herbal infusions and sets of vitamins. But the thick base of the cream cannot be replaced, since the other components specified in the recipe may not mix with it or give unpredictable chemical reactions. Therefore, when choosing a composition for your skin type, pay attention to the base that is indicated in it. For oily and problematic skin, it is better to use gelatin, egg white and yolk, glycerin, etc. But oil, cream, paraffin and natural wax are solutions for dry and sensitive skin.
- The shelf life of homemade cream is no more than two weeks. Most creams are stored even in the refrigerator for no more than a week, and then they separate and spoil. Therefore, do not make a lot of cream at once - focus on the volume of 15-20 ml.
Preparation of cream for different skin types. An easy old-fashioned way to cook
The concentration of additives in each specific product is harmless, but the problem is that we always use several care products at the same time. In addition, we eat modern food products, including semi-finished products. They are based on the same additives that are included in store-bought creams. Therefore, combining a facial product with a quick dinner within at least one day already creates the likelihood of an overdose of one or more chemical additives. Homemade face creams do not have these disadvantages: they do not contain foreign inclusions, we always know exactly their composition and shelf life.
When making natural face cream at home, it is important to understand that it will probably turn out to be richer and richer than the “emasculated” store-bought emulsion. For this reason, it is almost impossible to create a cream at home suitable for everyday use for oily and problem skin. It is best for its owners to limit themselves to masks made with their own hands, which you will use only periodically.
For oily skin, recipes with gel bases are often recommended. But you should first pay attention to the gelling agent that is offered to you. Not all of them are safe, so check the properties of any unfamiliar substances you encounter in a new recipe.
Universal moisturizer
The easiest way to make a homemade face moisturizer is with honey and yolk, lemon and olive oil. It is also good because it is considered universal - suitable for all skin types. Replacing a store-bought product with homemade creams made from healthy products is just the thing.
Ingredients:
- fresh lemon juice - 2 tbsp;
- olive oil - 1 tbsp;
- glycerin - 1 tsp;
- natural honey - 1 tsp;
- camphor or other alcohol - 5 drops;
- fresh egg yolk - 1 pc.
Preparation
- Mix the butter, yolk and honey thoroughly with a mixer or blender.
- Mix glycerin and lemon juice separately.
- Combine both mixtures and mix with a mixer/blender until completely homogeneous, adding alcohol 1 drop at a time.
Anyone can make face cream at home. But you need to remember that the optimal storage conditions for homemade products are the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. But applying cream to your face when it’s cold is not the best solution. Therefore, before use, it is better to select the volume you need from the jar and pre-warm it - in your fingers or simply at room temperature.
Refreshing serum for every day
Honey and vitamins moisturize skin of any type and treat inflammation. The yolk refreshes and makes the face more matte.
Ingredients:
- natural honey (preferably thick) - 1 tsp;
- glycerin - 1 tsp;
- vitamins A and E - 1 capsule each;
- fresh quail egg yolk - 1 pc.
Preparation
- Mix glycerin and honey until smooth.
- Add the contents of the vitamin capsules and the egg yolk to the mixture, mix thoroughly again.
- Place in a container for permanent storage and put in the refrigerator.
With cocoa butter and aloe juice
Making a nourishing face cream at home is also easy. It is suitable for sensitive and dry skin; the main thing in this recipe is to use moderation with essential oils. In large doses, they can provoke a local allergic reaction or even burn the stratum corneum (outermost) layer of the skin. A high concentration of essential oils can provide enhanced peeling not only for dry and sensitive skin, but also for oily skin, which is why it should be used.
Ingredients:
- beeswax - 0.5 tsp;
- vitamin A - 1 capsule;
- vitamin E - 1 capsule;
- cocoa butter - 0.5 tsp;
- almond oil - 1 tsp;
- fresh aloe juice - 0.5 tsp.
Preparation
- Combine beeswax and cocoa butter in a non-metallic container, stirring as it melts.
- Remove the mixture from the heat, immediately add aloe juice and almond oil, mix everything using a mixer.
- Let cool until hot but not scalding, add the contents of the vitamin capsules to the mixture.
- Mix the cream again using a mixer or blender.
- Stir the cream constantly until it cools completely, so cool it artificially - place it in a container with ice or cold water.
- When the mixture has cooled and become viscous, transfer it to a container for permanent storage, close it and put it in the refrigerator.
Firming nourishing
Homemade cream will provide the skin not only with nutrition, but also with intense hydration, eliminate moderate sagging and improve complexion. Recommended for women over 40 years old.
Ingredients:
- lanolin - 50 ml;
- natural honey (preferably thick) - 25 ml;
- almond oil - 25 ml.
Preparation
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl for cooking the cream and place in a water bath.
- Stir more and more as it heats up until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Remove and cool, continuing to stir.
- Transfer to a container for permanent storage and refrigerate.
Rejuvenating with honey and glycerin
For those over 50 years old, homemade cosmetics are the ideal solution due to the maximum nutritional, moisturizing and regenerating properties of natural ingredients. Anti-wrinkle cream is made at home based on gelatin using food acid.
Ingredients:
- table gelatin - 0.5 tsp;
- glycerin - 50 ml;
- purified or boiled water - 50 ml;
- natural flower honey - 1.5 tbsp;
- food acid (citric, malic, tartaric) - 1 g.
Preparation
- Place the bowl with the mixture in a water bath and heat, stirring constantly, until the acid and gelatin are completely dissolved.
- When the mixture is completely homogeneous, remove and cool.
- Apply a thin layer once every two days.
Night for aging, dry and sensitive skin
Homemade face cream is intended for daily application before bed. Its absorption time may vary depending on the age and type of skin, so remove any remaining residue with a cotton pad or napkin after at least 20-30 minutes from application. Excess cream should not be washed off! This recipe is contraindicated for oily skin types.
Ingredients:
- olive oil - 1 tsp;
- glycerin - 0.5 tsp;
- beeswax - a few grains in solid form or 0.5 tsp. in melted;
- fresh chicken egg yolk - 1 pc.;
- fresh cucumber juice - 1.5 tbsp.
Preparation
- Mix cucumber juice and egg yolk separately.
- Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl for cooking the cream and place it in a water bath.
- Stir vigorously as it melts until the mixture is smooth.
- Remove from heat, cool. When the cream is just warm, but has not yet thickened, add the previously prepared cucumber-egg mixture.
- Mix thoroughly again until smooth.
The listed DIY face cream recipes are an effective way for daily care due to the high content of nutrients in natural ingredients, many reviews confirm this. However, it is unknown how the skin will perceive such an abundance of vitamins after many years of being kept on store-bought “dry rations”. Therefore, first prepare a moisturizing face cream with your own hands just for testing. Some components may cause allergies. Therefore, if you do not know exactly how your skin interacts with a particular substance, check its reaction. To do this, apply the composition to a small area of skin, wait 2-3 hours, then rinse. If redness or burning occurs, do not use this recipe.

Cream - the simplest recipes
Creams
Creams made from pure, natural ingredients provide a versatile medium for using essential oils. You can choose oils that have a variety of therapeutic purposes and add them to an unscented cream base.
The great thing about creams is that they stay on the skin longer than carrier oils, an advantage that's especially beneficial when you're dealing with skin issues. Heavier creams can provide a protective barrier between the skin and the external environment to promote healing.
Simple creams can be prepared very easily using various combinations of oil, wax and flower water. Usually creams are made with almond oil, but heavier creams can be made by adding coconut oil or cocoa butter to almond oil. Special carrier oils, such as jojoba, avocado, peach kernel and others, are usually added in relatively small quantities, as they have their own specific properties. You can add the appropriate essential oil to this cream.
If you don't want to make the creams yourself, you can add essential oils to the finished creams. But first, it is very important to make sure that they are made from pure plant materials and that no harmful chemicals have been added to them. Not all cream manufacturers yet indicate the exact composition of their products on the packaging, so be sure that you are buying creams from brands that are trustworthy in this regard.
Magic cream
Internal production of the cream consists of using a base and a food additive. It may seem strange to you, but this method is simple and effective. To make the cream, fruit or vegetable juices are used, which contain valuable nutrients and vitamins. They are useful not only for making masks, but also for creating a personal cream.
What do you need
First - the basis. The basis can be pre-melted internal fat, spinal cord, Vaseline, olive oil or some other. If you don't know what to choose, consult your pharmacist to help you choose a neutral base cream.
Depending on your skin type, you can choose a base cream (you can use it for children without additional additives). For normal skin, the cream can be anything, but if you have dry skin, it is better to choose a base foundation that is oilier and vice versa, if the skin is oily, the base should not be very oily (for example, children's moisturizer).
Propolis cream
Add a few drops of propolis tincture to the base - you can take cream, but it must be used during the day. This cream is rich in vitamins, will nourish the skin and is suitable for all skin types.
Butter + cream
To produce this cream you will need a teaspoon of cream and one spoon of butter. Mix everything together and add a few drops of lemon juice. This cream is suitable for dry and rough skin.
Yogurt cream
This cream is suitable for problematic skin with enlarged pores. You need to add plain yogurt (not sweet) to a small amount of the base. This cream needs to be used over several days, so don’t use too much. This cream helps restore the skin's natural protective layer.

From Women's magazine InFlora.ru
Dry skin and skin after sunbathing
Coconut cream:
50 g coconut oil;
20 g almond oil;
Yogurt after sun cream
Apply to burnt skin and leave until completely dry. Rinse off with cool water. Repeat if necessary.
120 gr. yogurt without additives
30 ml. Aloe Vera gel
15 drops Lavender essential oil
50 g coconut oil;
20 g almond oil;
25 g rose water (or neroli water);
20 drops essential oil of your choice.
"Noble cream":
200 g full-fat sour cream (preferably homemade)
1 lemon, squeeze juice
100 g cologne (rose water, tincture)
100 g of alcohol (if you have acne, you can take calendula tincture)
2-3 tbsp. cucumber juice
2 fresh yolks
Mix sour cream, juices, yolks, add cologne and alcohol at the very end, pour into jars and put in the refrigerator for a day, the cream will thicken, store in the refrigerator.
Notes - first, make half of the indicated doses, or better yet a quarter, otherwise this jar of cream will turn out to be huge. The cream can be stored for six months. You can add vitamins A and E. I usually add essential oils. They rejuvenate the skin. The cream turns out to be delicate, absorbs immediately and leaves no shine. But, I think, in spring and summer it is better to use it only at night, because... Essential oils and alcohol in the sun can cause age spots to appear. And you also know exactly what you put in the cream. If you are not allergic to honey, you can add a spoonful of honey to a large jar of cream. We make all the additives before adding alcohol. It is important.
I changed the following in it: I reduced the dose by four times, since it is simply excellent for the first 2 weeks, then somehow loses its airiness and freshness, although it does not spoil at all. Then I did not add any cologne at all. Instead of cologne, I added a little once romazulan (in this case the cream turns out to be beige), another time a little calendula tincture, the third time I used a little sea buckthorn oil. In short, if you want to get a moisturizer, then take low-fat sour cream and add honey if desired. if you want it nutritious, then take fatty sour cream and add sea buckthorn oil until it has a pleasant apricot color. I always put it in the refrigerator in a wide jar, covered with paper, not a lid, so that the alcohol evaporates. After 2-3 days I added essential oils and vitamins and then closed the lid. I used it in the sun in the summer without any problems, and so did my girlfriends. No stains appeared."

- 2 parts geranium essential oil
- 2 parts rosemary
- 2 k. verbena
Melt beeswax in oil in a water bath. Remove and beat with a mixer, gradually, little by little, adding 30 ml. flower (I added mineral) water. Then add essential oils and beat again.

The cream is oily and absorbs well.
According to other aromatherapy sources, the same cream is recommended for dry facial skin.
The skin on my hands became dry, chapped, but after using the cream it became much better and softer, and the cream absorbs very quickly on dry skin. So I would also add that the cream is also for hands.
Bathing cream
I kept wondering where to put this recipe, maybe in our soap theme, but it’s still better here because the cream is not intended for storage and one can say that its best definition is like a hair washing cream.
1 egg
- 0.5 cups of shampoo
- 1 tea. l. gelatin
- 2-3 parts of essential oil
I poured 1 spoon of gelatin into 5 teaspoons. water to slightly cover the gelatin and after a while heat it up a little so that the gelatin dissolves. Then add shampoo, egg and um. Beat everything with a mixer and you can go to the shower. The mixture forms a rich foam under running water. After bathing, the skin becomes smooth, shiny and soft. And the hair is silky and shiny.

We are accustomed to homemade tonics and facial masks, but we still buy cream in the store, paying a lot of money for products that are not always of decent quality. Is it worth risking your beauty? Face cream can also be prepared at home, and more than once. Many products can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks. Prepare “your” cream that will work for your youth and freshness of face.
Method for making homemade cream
You will need some equipment: a small mixer, glass or clay bowls (not metal), a wooden spoon, a kitchen scale. The face cream is based on oil, water, herbal decoctions and other ingredients. Connecting them at home is not easy; it is important to know the technology.
- To melt the solid base of the cream, you will need a water bath. To do this, use a small ladle with a handle, place a bowl of wax and oil in it so that the bottom does not touch the water, but is simply surrounded by steam.
- The product is heated with constant stirring. Use a ceramic or wooden spoon.
- When the base has melted, add liquid oils. Stir for 2-3 minutes until the components are completely combined.
- The remaining components are added drop by drop to the slightly cooled mixture of oils. To ensure uniform administration, you can use a regular pharmacy pipette or syringe.
- Beat the mixture with a mixer.
- To cool the cream faster, place the container with it in a bowl of ice or cold water, stir with a spoon. At this stage, essential oils are added to the mass - just a few drops.
- Transfer the cream into a dry container made of glass, porcelain, clay and put it in the cold (on the refrigerator door). It is stored for 5 - 7 days.
Pay special attention to the procedure for mixing the components. Firstly, they all must be the same temperature. That is, if the melted oils are slightly warm, then the water base needs to be warmed up a little. Secondly, you can’t beat it with a mixer right away; first, just mix the ingredients well with a spoon or a small whisk. This will help prevent the mixture from separating.
Components of homemade creams
The selection of components depends on several factors: facial skin type, age and problems to be solved. As an oil base for the cream, you can use several options, described below.
- Almond, grape seed, apricot oils. Suitable for any skin type, absorbs quickly, has a delicate scent and low shine.
- Coconut and shea oils are denser, have a strong scent and intensely nourish the skin. They can leave shine and a thin film on the face.
- Vegetable oils - olive, corn, flaxseed - smell intensely and shine on the skin of the face, so they are relevant when preparing a nourishing cream.
- Homemade facial moisturizer is prepared using oils such as jojoba, avocado, and peach.
- A protective cream that will cover the face with the thinnest invisible film is made from almond oil and primrose oil.
- Problematic facial skin will be “happy” to use oils: black cumin, rose, sea buckthorn, lemon.
Purified water or low concentration decoctions of herbs, flowers, and plants are used as a water base. Emulsifier - “connector” of oil and water - beeswax, guar gum, palovax, sodium alginate. You can also enrich your face cream at home with essential oil and fat-soluble vitamins (A, E).
How to use homemade formulations correctly
The strength of its action on the skin and the final result depend on the technique of applying the cream. Therefore, follow some simple rules.
- All recipes for face creams contain oils, but the more there are in the composition, the deeper the ingredients penetrate. Oil in this case is a transport ingredient that delivers active substances to the deep layers of the skin. Light day creams can be made on the basis of decoctions and water, and night creams can be made on an oil or honey basis with a minimum of liquid.
- Before use, check the product for allergenicity: apply a drop on your wrist or elbow for 15 minutes, and only then on your face.
- Do not take part of the cream from the jar with your fingers; use a spoon, preferably wooden or glass, for this. The cream is prepared at home without preservatives, so it is possible that pathogenic microbes may develop in it if sterility is not maintained.
- Apply the product to clean facial skin treated with foam, tonic or alcohol-containing compounds (for oily skin).
- Light water creams do not need to be washed off, but night creams saturated with oils must be removed with a napkin after 1-2 hours after application.
Cream for sensitive dry skin
Facial skin prone to peeling, the formation of age spots, with visible capillaries requires a special approach. The main requirement for a cream for this type of facial skin is high moisturizing activity and protective properties.
Simple homemade recipes will help you achieve soft, hydrated and even skin.

To prepare it, you will need 5 small buds of tea rose, 50 grams of butter, 10 grams of beeswax, 5 grams of liquid vitamin A.
Melt beeswax in a water bath, add oil, heat for 3 minutes, cool slightly. Wash the petals, dry and crush in a mortar to a paste. Mix and add the vitamin from the capsules at the end. Store tightly closed in glass container. Apply to cleansed skin.
- We will prepare an intensive moisturizing face cream as follows: melt 5 grams of beeswax in a water bath, pour in 40 grams of St. John's wort oil, 20 grams of badger fat. Stirring, heat for 2 minutes. Pour in vitamin A drop by drop, stir and pour into a jar, refrigerate.
- Try making a cream using a decoction of medicinal herbs.
To do this, brew dry coltsfoot in 200 milliliters of purified water, strain, and cool. Mix anhydrous lanolin (5 grams) and 20 milliliters of olive oil and heat slightly. Beat with a mixer with herbal infusion. Apply twice daily to clean face and neck.
You can also add liquid vitamins to moisturizing creams: B, E. When adding decoctions of herbal ingredients, the shelf life of the face cream is reduced to 4-5 days.
